IT’S A FOUR LEGGED THING

I have now been in Lisbon for two weeks. Just like a well worn pair of slippers I have slipped back into my life, got to know my neighbourhood, found my favorite coffee shop, reacquainted myself with old friends and made some new one too !  All of this has reminded of what a lovely place it is. I’ve also been reminded of how much love the locals have for their dogs.

I love the fact that on any given day, at any given time,  you can see so many different breeds of dogs. And these dogs aren’t just your regular dogs, these dogs all seems to have sparky personalities. It’s like they own the streets and their owners, as they scamper around.

I have one particular favourite. A little yorkie, who lives at the shop across the way from where I am staying. On the first day we met he was sporting a very snappy tweed dog coat and had just slipped his leash to escape his owner, who was chasing him down the street.

When he finally let her catch up to him, it was like watching a Mum tell off her naughty child as he bowed his head at first, then cocked his head to the side and gave her the full force of his puppy dog eyes, which instantly melted her heart. At that moment, unbeknown to them, he melted my heart too and has got me feeling all kind of ways about putting down some roots in 2019.

YOU CAN’T ESCAPE IT – POLITICS

I realised my weekly round-ups were becoming politics heavy, so I abandoned them for a while to cleanse my non partisan soul, but it seem events in my adopted country of the USA, will not allow me to remain silent.

I have to admit, I’m totally captivated, by the wave of notifications about (depending on who the update has come from) the impending demise of the most deluded not so smart man in the world – Donald Trump.

Because I’m now a hardened cynic I’m holding firm and not getting excited until I actually see Trump leaving the White House for the last time.

ALL HAIL BTS

It’s been a while since I’ve been excited about the announcement of this year’s Grammy nominations, but I kinda lost it over them this week.

No, not because Cardi B’s been nominated, but because my favourite K-Pop band BTS;s ‘ Love Yourself: Tear album earned a nomination for best recording package.

What do I love about BTS? Without sounding like an obsessed fan, they totally slay and I appreciate them with the weathered eye of a veteran unashamed lover of pop music !

It’s not just about their infectiously well crafted songs, which are A grade moments in pop, that sit right up there, with some of the very best pop music over the last decade; it’s the group’s overall swagger and incorporation of all the classic elements of a boyband.

What tips BTS over the edge and into world class status right now, are their accompanying visuals are utterly stunning and epically memorable.

Each of the three albums in BTS Love Yourself series was distinct in terms of featuring uniquely diverse concept photos. I have my fingers crossed for them xo
